IF NOT NOW, WHEN? RECALLED TO PRESENCE
Women's Fall Contemplative Retreat with Carolyn Foster
September 15-17, 2006
Santa Sabina Center, San Rafael

The one thing no one can take from us is where we place our attention.

Dr. Fred Luskin

We tend to think that it's the really big choices in our lives that shape our happiness and well-being – and so we often tend to get paralyzed imagining the paths taken and not taken. I believe, however, that the moment-to-moment choices we make each day are more influential. This gives me hope: I can choose to notice beauty, breathe away tension, say smaller yeses and nos. Going on retreat strengthens my ability to pay attention and choose well. This weekend retreat will explore the spiritual practices of shared silence and reflective writing, using the themes of mindfulness and choice.

Santa Sabina Center offers retreatants gracious hospitality, beauty, and a refuge for contemplation and renewal. Scheduled program times alternate with free time for hiking, napping, playing in the art center, reading, or lying and watching the trees and sky. The silences and conversations are as healing a diet as the good food.

Register by calling my voicemail, (510) 484-3078 on or after Monday, June 26. You may reserve for yourself and a friend with one call or have a friend call for you if you'll be out of town. Last resort: email me at cjf@creativechoices.net or fax me at (510) 769-8084. Sometimes people assume calling late won't work, but whenever you get this or get around to deciding, call anyway. The cost of the retreat is $260 for a double room, $300 for a single room. This includes lodging, program, and six meals, from dinner Friday night through lunch Sunday.
