WSP 216:  THE ART OF PERSEVERANCE:
Strategies for Sustaining Momentum and Passion

A Stanford Continuing Studies Summer Course

Two Saturdays, October
23 and 30, 2010, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Bursts of energy and enthusiasm characterize the early stages of a new project, but we all encounter the doldrums when continuing to push forward seems overwhelming. We can learn the art of perseverance to ease ourselves past discouragement with savvy practical tactics. Building self-awareness and self-management skills increases personal and professional competence. The ability to analyze limiting mental habits and behaviors and counteract them is as rewarding as it is effective. Regaining creative zest and momentum produces stamina for the challenges of lifelong learning and achievement. Using research from neuroscience, positive psychology, and leadership development, this workshop will teach you strategies to focus and follow through on your long-term professional and personal goals. Participants will use interactive exercises, writing, and discussion to design the creative toolkit that will shrink obstacles and maximize results.
