REDESIGNING YOUR CAREER: When and How to Take the Plunge
Stanford Continuing Studies Course Whether the impulse to redirect your work life is an occasional whisper or an urgent clarion call, many of us are probably caught between desire and dread. Doing what we know, even if it leads to burnout or boredom, conditions us to accept the familiar as inevitable. People take the leap and go for radical, or even subtle, career redesigns every day. Using research into risk-taking, transition, and resilience, this workshop will teach strategies to move from longing to wise, focused action. We will explore ways to harness the psychological strengths and develop the practical skills that build clear thinking and courageous follow-through. Participants will use interactive exercises, writing, and discussion to follow their own signposts to fulfillment and professional success. Instructor: Carolyn Foster, coach and writing teacher When: 2 Saturdays, January 29 and February 5, 2011, 10 AM to 4 PM Where: Stanford campus To Register: Go to https://continuingstudies.stanford.edu/courses/course.php?cid=20102_WSP 107 or http://continuingstudies.stanford.edu and find the title under course number WSP 107. |
